I like how attractively the message is conveyed in this work, showing the darkness of the matter with the colours.A perfect desktop enhancement serving as a great wallpaper and definately an alarm when you switch on your system." Excuse me, I was wondering if perhaps I could get permission to use this picture for a class assignment? It's a really nice picture, and I wanted to use it as a background for the poem that I wrote. Please feel free to say no, but I'd really appreciate it if you gave me permission. Thanks in advance.
The DD comments on this are ridiculous. "The artist has spread a very recent and important health awareness issue on smoking." What issue is that? Oh, that smoking is bad? That "recent" health issue that we've been talking about for thirty years? What awareness has the artist spread? You put a cigarette in a square, and suddenly you're a Health Issue Genius. You haven't said anything about smoking at all, you just created a background that is centered around a cigarette.
All that being said, I like the wallpaper; the smoke is manipulated perfectly.
my piece which i maybe deleted already called "dont smoke" with the same picture (only worse) mirrored zillas point of view on the description, dont misunderstand that, but yes this doesnt have anything to do with quitting or the dangers of smoking, allthough this can be a help for some people quitting. as zilla said "definetly and alarm when you switch on your system". it may cause people to want to smoke or remember them not to. allthough i respect you for understanding that the dd feature is not the story about the piece which is a dd. its a point of view which the person who featured has. Thankyou for being objective
I don't think I could consider that an image for either the dangers of smoking or a warning not to smoke. The image is simply too beautiful. I believe it was approximately thirty years ago that Irving Penn created his "famous" cigarette butt images. They were suppossed to be beautiful due to the extravagant processes involved in their creation, even though the subject matter was questionable. I'll leave that up to those who view the work.
Please don't misunderstand me. I think the image is absolutely exquisite. It was your description of "don't smoke" that had me confused. If anything, after viewing the rich tones incorporated in the print, the burning embers, the sensuous, light swirls of smoke..........well..........I wanna grab my first cigarette right now and inhale deeply : ) .
